Urea Formaldehyde Concentrate (UFC) – Overview
Urea Formaldehyde Concentrate (UFC) is a clear, highly concentrated aqueous solution of urea and formaldehyde. It is widely used in resin production, adhesives, and fertilizers.
Key Properties:
• Chemical Composition: Contains Urea (NH₂CONH₂) and Formaldehyde (CH₂O)
• Appearance: Clear, colorless liquid
• Formaldehyde Content: Typically ≥ 60%
• Urea Content: Around 25%
• Methanol Content: Usually low, used as a stabilizer
Common Uses:
1. Resin & Adhesives Manufacturing
• Used in Urea-Formaldehyde (UF) resins, which are widely used in plywood, particleboards, and MDF (medium-density fiberboard).
• Provides strong bonding properties in wood-based panels.
2. Fertilizers
• Used to produce slow-release nitrogen fertilizers like urea-formaldehyde fertilizers, which provide long-term soil enrichment.
3. Textile & Paper Industry
• Acts as a finishing agent for textiles, improving crease resistance and shrink resistance.
• Used in paper strengthening and coating applications.
4. Chemical Intermediate
• Used in the synthesis of paints, coatings, and molding compounds.
